Fossil-free Energy Fair

I'm writing to tell you about an exciting program being put on by MOB (see attachment).  I hope I'll see
you on the 27th.

Marcellus Outreach Butler (MOB) a grassroots group from Butler County, PA dedicated to
educating the public to the health and safety perils of unconventional natural gas
development is adding yet another facet to their multi-prongged approach.  MOB is
sponsoring the Fossil-free Energy Fair on July 27 to educate the public to the
economic and climate benefits of alternate forms of energy.  We're excited about this because
we at MOB aren't just against toxic fracking, we're FOR a clean energy future.

The theme of the Fair is “Energizing for a Sustainable Future,” and will feature Patricia
DeMarco, the former director of the Rachael Carson Institute. Patricia and others will
speak on energy conservation and viability of Wind, Solar and Hydro for energy
generation. The economic benefits of job creation, business development, and energy
independence will be presented by Paul Scanlon and John Golden from the Sustainable
Enterprise Accelerator at Slippery Rock University.  That's just the beginning.
We also will present a number of other speakers addressing different facets of sustainable energy
and conservation.

The Fair, being held under roof, in the Carousel at Alameda Park in Butler Pennsylvania
will go on rain or shine. Zero Fossil, a portable power provider, will supply solar
generated power for the entire event. Free hot dogs, cooked with solar generated
power will be a special feature. Entertainment will be provided by Grugi, a local music
group, and a spectacular hoop show by the Butler County Hooping Community.

Vendors, such as solar installers, energy choice suppliers offering 100% wind power,
and others will will be on hand to talk about and display their products. The Fair
starts at 12:00 PM and runs until 5 PM. Admission is free.

If you use social media, can you take a minute and support our "thunderclap" to promote the Fossil-free Energy Fair?  By signing up your social media will automatically send out a reminder the day before the fair to maximize our impact.  It only takes a minute.

If you're like me, you're asking, "What is Thunderclap?" ( https://www.thunderclap.it/ )  Thunderclap says of itself: "Thunderclap is the first crowd-speaking platform that helps people be heard by saying something together."  What it does, if enough people sign on, is send out a "status update" or "tweet" from a bunch of people simultaneously.  It creates a buzz.  The social media experts in our group (MOB) tell me that this amplifies our voices.
