How to change to another mode of measurement

  1. Press ON/OFF, SELF CAL will appear on the screen.
  2. Press and hold MODE until the desired units are displayed on the screen, and then release MODE.
    • mS or µS (Conductivity)
    • pH
    • ppm S or ppt S (Salinity)
    • ppm or ppt (TDS)
    • mg/L (TDS)
How to take a measurement
  1. Press ON/OFF, SELF CAL will appear on the screen.
  2. Press and hold MODE until the desired units are displayed on the screen, and then release MODE.
  3. Immerse the electrode into the sample. Slowly swirl the electrode in the sample if testing for conductivity, TDS, or salinity.
  4. If measuring for conductivity, TDS, or salinity, the probe will auto-range (flash 0000) then display the reading.
  5. If measuring for pH, the reading will flash until it is stabilized.
  6. When finished, rinse the electrode with distilled or deionized water.

Calibration

Conductivity/Salinity
  1. Fill the sample cup to the 20 mL mark with the conductivity or salinity standard.
  2. Press ON/OFF, SELF CAL will appear on the screen.
  3. Press and hold MODE until the desired units are displayed on the screen, and then release MODE.
  4. Press and hold CAL until the display flashes.
  5. Insert the electrode into the standard and stir.
  6. When the calibration is complete, SA and End will appear on the screen.

pH

1 Point Calibration
  1. Fill the sample cup to the 20 mL mark with a buffer solution that has a pH of 7.
  2. Press ON/OFF, SELF CAL will appear on the screen.
  3. Press and hold MODE until the desired units are displayed on the screen, and then release MODE.
  4. Press and hold CAL until the display flashes.
  5. Insert the electrode into the standard until CAL appears on the screen.
  6. When the calibration is complete, SA and End will appear on the screen.

2 Point Calibration
  1. Repeat steps 1 through 5 from the "1 Point Calibration" instructions.
  2. Remove the electrode from the buffer solution that has a pH of 7, and insert it into another buffer solution that has a pH of either 4 or 10.
  3. When calibration is complete, SA and End will appear on the screen.

3 Point Calibration
  1. Repeat steps 1 through 5 from the "1 Point Calibration" instructions.
  2. Remove the electrode from the buffer solution that has a pH of 7, and insert it into another buffer solution that has a pH of 4 until CAL appears on the screen.
  3. Remove the electrode from the buffer solution that has a pH of 4, and insert it into another buffer solution that has a pH of 10 until CAL appears on the screen.
  4. When calibration is complete, SA and End will appear on the screen.
